Hi, I’m Robin. Raised as a physicist, I try to figure out how the brain does all the fun little things it does. I did my PhD in a Computational Neuroscience lab at the Research Center Jülich, Germany, where I worked on quantitative methods to characterize neural network dynamics, including correlation structures and waves of propagating activity. Since, I’ve propagated to NYU in New York City to further investigate in simulations how cortical wave activity may influence visual attention. And sometimes I dabble in data visualizations.
Besides that, I love to spend any time I find woodworking, cooking, fermenting, making or looking at art, collecting wild herbs and mushrooms, meditating, dancing, and organizing things in lists. I use this space to write about research related topics, but generally anything that I may currently obsess over.
